1. Information we use

Accounts and saved activity

If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication supplies an account identifier, name, email address and profile image. We use these to sign you in and associate your saved information with your account. We do not receive your Google password.

Your watchlist, viewing history, watched status, collection names and membership, and preferences (including your selected viewing country) can be stored on your device. When signed in, Yify also synchronizes this saved activity, settings and records of removals through Firebase so your devices can stay in sync. Recent searches and cached catalogue information are also stored locally.

If you use the private movie journal, Yify stores the movies you log, watch dates, your optional personal ratings and notes, and records of edits and removals. Journal records are associated with your signed-in account, cached separately on your device and synchronized through Firebase. They are not published to other users. Viewing insights are calculated on your device from these records. Your journal remains available to read, edit and delete if supporter access ends.

Usage and diagnostics

In versions with the Privacy controls introduced on 25 September 2026, optional usage analytics stays off until you enable it. If enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase receives usage events such as screens visited, search length and result counts, selected titles, playback and watchlist activity, notification opens, purchase activity and app preferences. These versions do not send the text of your searches as analytics events. Providers may also process device or browser information, IP addresses, installation or session identifiers, and technical usage information.

If optional usage analytics is enabled, journal analytics record actions such as opening the journal, saving or deleting an entry, and opening insights or supporter options. These journal events do not include your notes, personal ratings, watch dates or logged titles.

Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry help diagnose crashes and performance problems. Reports can include error messages, stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device information, timings and the actions leading to an error. With the Privacy update, optional Sentry performance traces, diagnostic logs and metrics require the same optional usage-analytics choice. Automatic session tracking, profiling and replay are disabled. Turning analytics off discards optional telemetry still queued by Yify, including if you later enable it again. Information already handed to a provider’s transport or offline storage cannot be recalled through this setting. The update also stops copying app analytics payloads into Crashlytics breadcrumbs. Crash and error reporting remains active separately from this choice. If you choose to send a problem report, Sentry processes that report separately from optional measurement. Yify filters information from Sentry reports, but diagnostic information should not be assumed to be anonymous.

If you send a problem report or contact support, we receive the message and any information you choose to include. The in-app problem-report form does not request your name or email address or attach screenshots. Please avoid including sensitive information in a report.

Purchases and support

RevenueCat processes customer identifiers, products, transaction and subscription status, and purchase history so Yify can validate purchases, restore access and manage supporter benefits. When you sign in, your Yify account identifier can be linked to your RevenueCat customer record. On supported native builds, a Firebase app-instance identifier is shared with RevenueCat for purchase and advertising measurement only while optional usage analytics is enabled. Disabling it requests removal of that linkage; this does not erase information already received by providers. Purchase validation, restoration and subscription management still operate when optional usage analytics is off.

The store or web checkout provider processes billing and payment details. Yify does not store complete payment-card numbers. An external tip through Buy Me a Coffee is handled by that service and does not unlock Yify features.

Notifications and external content

With your permission, Yify can check the catalogue in the background and create local notifications for new titles. Your operating-system and app preferences control these notifications.

Where the optional Watchlist availability pilot is offered, you can separately enable alerts for saved movies becoming available on your selected streaming services. This requires an eligible subscription and a signed-in account. Yify stores a device or browser push-delivery token, a device registration identifier, your time zone, viewing country and registration time with your Firebase account. Scheduled processing on GitHub uses these records, your synchronized watchlist, selected streaming services and notification preferences to check availability through TMDB and verify subscription access through RevenueCat. Backend availability requests identify titles and do not send your Yify account identifier or push token to TMDB.

These optional alerts use Expo, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on Apple devices, Apple’s push-notification service to deliver messages without an open Yify screen or tab, subject to device and browser support. Delivery providers process the destination token and notification content. Yify keeps availability observations and delivery records to detect changes, avoid repeated alerts and handle delivery failures. The browser also stores a bounded list of recent notification event identifiers to prevent duplicate displays.

Streaming-service choices are saved preferences, not connected streaming accounts. Yify does not collect streaming-service passwords. For availability supplied by JustWatch through TMDB, the app connects directly to TMDB, which receives requested title identifiers, country filters where applicable, and connection information such as your IP address. These requests do not include your Yify account credentials or streaming-service credentials. Viewing links open a regional TMDB page; following its provider links takes you to that service, where its own sign-in and privacy policy apply.

If you choose Use current location, Yify asks for location permission to detect your viewing country once. You can decline and select a country manually. Mobile apps use the operating system’s location and reverse-geocoding services; their providers may process the location needed to identify your country. On the web, Yify requests location with high accuracy disabled, rounds latitude and longitude to two decimal places, and sends those approximate coordinates and your connection IP address directly to BigDataCloud. BigDataCloud uses location/IP pairings to improve its geolocation data, as described in its policy. Yify saves only the resulting country preference, which can sync with your account; it does not save coordinates, include them in analytics or diagnostics, or track your location in the background. You can revoke location permission through your browser or device settings.

Catalogue, artwork and trailer requests connect to external providers. Those providers receive the connection information needed to respond, such as your IP address and the requested resource. Anime searches are sent through Yify’s server to Nyaa with the search text and selected category. Yify does not send your account identity to Nyaa. In versions with Privacy controls, YouTube embeds stay unloaded until you select Allow YouTube in the player or enable YouTube trailers under Preferences → Privacy. YouTube then receives your IP address, video choices and device information and may use cookies or other storage under Google’s policy. This permission is saved on this device. Turning it off removes loaded embeds; it does not erase records already held by Google. Catalogue browsing uses catalogue artwork instead of YouTube thumbnails. Autoplay requires both this permission and your playback preference.

2. Service providers

We use information to operate Yify, synchronize your account, deliver purchases and advertising, understand usage, fix problems, provide support and protect the service. Providers process information needed for these functions:

External stores, websites and services also have their own policies. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect users and the service. If the service changes ownership, any transfer of information will remain subject to applicable privacy obligations and notice requirements.

3. Advertising and cookies

Yify uses Google AdMob on supported mobile builds and Google AdSense on the web. Google and advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers and information about ad interactions to deliver, measure and personalize advertising where permitted. Third parties may place and read cookies in your browser as a result of ad serving. Yify sends its additional AdMob impression, click and revenue measurements to Firebase and RevenueCat only while optional usage analytics is enabled. Google’s own ad-serving processing is governed separately by its advertising choices.

Learn how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services. You can manage Google ad personalization in My Ad Center.

Where applicable, Google's consent message offers choices for advertising data use. Use Ad privacy choices in the Android app when available, or Preferences → Privacy → Privacy and cookie settings on the web, to revisit those choices. The web control requests Google’s form when its consent service is available and stops Yify from requesting more ads during that page session. If Yify cannot request the form, it shows a message; this does not change your consent. Browser cookie controls and device advertising settings provide additional controls. Disabling storage may affect sign-in, saved preferences or other features.

Active supporter access removes ads placed by Yify. It does not remove advertising placed independently by external video or website providers. These legal pages do not load the app's advertising, analytics or sign-in scripts; the hosting service can still process ordinary connection logs.

4. Your choices

In versions with Privacy controls, change Optional usage analytics under Preferences → Privacy. Refusing it does not block browsing, sign-in or paid benefits. Your adult declaration, analytics and YouTube choices, notice version and the time of your choice are saved on this device or browser; they do not synchronize between devices. Change the choice separately on each device. Refused events are not held for later replay. Older installed versions may continue their previous behaviour until updated.

You can use catalogue features without signing in. In Preferences, you can manage saved history, watchlist data, playback and notification settings. You can also clear local browser or app data using your device's controls.

You can turn off Watchlist availability under Preferences → Notifications on each device or browser where you enabled it. Disabling alerts or signing out requests removal of that device’s enrollment and revocation of its push delivery. If the device is offline, cleanup may need to wait until you reconnect. You can also block notifications through your operating-system or browser settings. Changing these alert settings does not cancel your subscription.

To delete your Yify account, use Preferences → Account → Delete account, or follow the account-deletion instructions. Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of other personal information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Depending on your location, applicable law may also give you rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Use Preferences → Privacy → Request your data or raise a privacy concern, or email us, to exercise applicable rights or ask how they apply to your information. You can also ask about nominating someone to exercise applicable rights after death or incapacity. Include the account email used with Yify and the request you want us to handle; do not send passwords or identity documents unless a specific, necessary verification step has been agreed. For GDPR requests, we respond without undue delay and within one month; if a permitted extension of up to two further months is necessary, we explain it within that first month. You may complain to your local data-protection authority. India’s DPDP rights and Board complaint route apply as the relevant provisions take effect; contact us first through the grievance route above.

5. Retention and deletion

Account and synchronized data are kept to provide your account and cross-device features until you delete them or your account. Successful account deletion removes the Firebase account and the cloud content synchronized by Yify, including journal entries and availability-alert enrollments. A minimal deletion marker associated with the former account identifier is retained to prevent another signed-in device from restoring deleted account content. It retains a deletion timestamp, but no journal entries, titles, watch dates, ratings or notes. Updated apps clear synchronized caches attributable to the deleted account on the deleting device after confirming cloud deletion, including the journal, watchlist, history, collections and synced preferences. Other updated devices clear their attributable copies after verifying the deletion. Copies on devices that cannot synchronize can remain until local app or browser data is cleared. Scheduled alert processing clears delivery state for the accounts it processes when it detects an unenrolled device or a deleted account. Records outside the current alert pilot may need a separate administrative cleanup. Device-only data must be cleared separately.

Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription, refund a payment, or delete every record held by billing, advertising, analytics or diagnostics providers. Transaction records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, refund and legal obligations. Usage, diagnostic, support and delivery records are retained according to their purpose, provider configuration and applicable requirements. Contact us about additional deletion requests.

6. Security and international processing

We use access controls and encrypted network connections supported by our services to protect information. No system is completely secure. Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States and other locations in which they operate. Applicable provider agreements and data-protection requirements govern that processing.

7. Children

Yify is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. Updated versions ask you to confirm that you are at least 18 before opening the app. We save the confirmation rather than a date of birth or identity document. A self-declaration is not independent age verification. We do not offer a parental-consent flow for under-18 users. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Do not use Yify if you are under 18. Third-party services may impose additional requirements.

8. Changes and contact

We will publish updates on this page and revise the date above. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice before they take effect where required. Questions or requests can be sent to kunal26das@gmail.com.
